Groenten Zonder Grenzen (GZG – ‘Veggies without borders’) is an initiative that collects leftover food to cook free, healthy and sustainable meals.

We want to raise awareness around:

  • Food waste – also at home and in daily living
  • Healthy and sustainable eating – through delicious and creative vegan recipes
  • The importance of social inclusion – welcoming everyone regardless of age, background, or beliefs

We are entirely run by volunteers:

The beating heart of GZG  is a group of volunteers who would like to give something back to the city and the planet. Our whatsapp group where we coordinate our efforts consists of more than 120 volunteers and every week we post a sign-up message where they can sign up to help out.

For administration purposes we also have an official “Board”:

Myrthe Frissen – Secretary

Myrthe Frissen played a vital role in getting GZG set up and shape it into the extended community it is today. She has recently moved away from Rotterdam but has offered to continue supporting us via our board.

Aletta Martens – Chairwoman

Aletta is founder of a consulting agency called ENZOV which focusses on sustainable marketing and CSR in organizations or city citizens. Thanks to her experience we were able to navigate all the administrative hurdles necessary to become an officially registered organization.
