Before every dinner our Kitchen Coordinator will give a brief intro for new guests based on this text.

Welcome to GZG!

For those of you joining us for the first time, the main objective of this project is to transform the leftovers of our society into more appreciation for each other, our health, and the food our planet provides.

Our 100% vegan and halal meals are primarily made from leftover fruits and vegetables we collect at the market, they are cooked in a kitchen that would have otherwise stayed empty, and we are also run entirely by volunteers who dedicate their leftover time to make these special evenings happen.

We are also a continuous work in progress

And this week we have several points to help make our dinners work even better:

  1. To avoid long ques for our buffet table we will ask one table to go up at a time.
  2. We would also like to ask you not to fill up any take away boxes at the buffet table, as we have seen this happen before everyone has had their share. You are welcome to do this after dinner in the kitchen and anyone that helps us clean up gets first choice.
  3. Another friendly request is not to pile up your plates and only take one slice of dishes at a time. This is again to ensure everyone gets a taste of all the hard work that has gone into these meals.
  4. And finally if you plan to come eat with us again, we highly appreciate if you could bring along any vegan ingredient that we cannot collect at the market. High on our current wish list are: (mention top 3 of the list below and then refer to our website for more info).

This week’s ingredient wishlist:

After dinner and before dessert:

Hope everyone is enjoying the food and their company! If you aren’t then we have a solution for you because this is the moment we will bring out our desserts and also ask everyone to shuffle seats!

One of the great things of sharing a meal is that it can bring people around the same table that would normally never cross paths. This can teach us more about each other and maybe even lead to new friendships or solutions.

So please get up and take any new random seat and we will get the conversation started with some delicious (list desserts)
